difference between Sql 2000 and sql 2000 gold

hi
what is the difference between Sql 2000 server and sql
2000 gold server.
is there any difference in the patches for sql 2000 gold?
regards
vishalThere's no format definition of "gold". sometimes it is used to define the release version (as
opposed to beta or service packs), but this is more and more referred to as "RTM", Release To
Manufacturing. Where did you see this?

The gold edition, comes with a free Microsoft game of choice :)

It's possible that this is some non-standard marketing offer that has been
made. But ultimately... there is no such thing as SQL Server 'gold' edition.
You can have:
Developer
Standard
Enterprise
As Tibor said... 'gold' sometimes is an internal word used to refer to the
final bits that are sent to manufacturing (RTM). But it does not indicate a
version of SQL Server.
